Your child doesn’t tour the school. They spend a day in it.
An IFIS Experience Day is the best way to decide if the school is the right fit for your child. Your child joins their actual year group for a full school day - from 8.30am to 3.30pm - real lessons, authentic interactions, a buddy, lunch with the class. It's the same routine an IFIS student will go through. At 3.30 you get the teacher’s honest read on how they did.

A complete school day, not a 40-minute visit. Same timetable your child would have as a student here.
8–12
Children in the class they join. By nine o’clock the teacher knows and remembers your child’s name.
Any school day
Term time, Monday to Friday. Tell us which day you prefer and we will confirm within 24hrs.
The Day, Hour by Hour:
Here is exactly what happens.
No mystery, no curated showcase.
This is the ordinary timetable your child would sit if they enrolled - which is the point of an experience day. You are not being shown the school’s best day. You are being shown a typical school day.
8:30 - 8:45
Arrival and Assembly
Your child is met at the door, shown to the assembly point and introduced to their classmates for the day. Your child also gets a buddy - a student from the same class who has done this before and knows what it feels like.
8:45 - 9:40
English.
They are issued the actual Cambridge workbook the class is using and given a place in it. Not a worksheet made up for visitors.
9:40 - 10:35
Mathematics
Singapore Math heuristics, taught the way it is taught every day. The teacher pitches to your child’s level rather than leaving them behind the lesson.
10:35 - 11:00
Morning Break
Out with the class. This is usually the crucial period that decides whether your child wants to come back.
11:00 – 12:00
Science
It could be theory, or practical. Equipment, Goggles, a bench and a result to write up.
12:00 - 1:00
Lunch in the Dining Hall
With their year group, at their table. Tell us about allergies or dietary needs when you book and we will sort it.
1:00 – 2:00
Second Language
Chinese, Japanese or French, with a native teacher. Complete beginners are welcome - every child in the room started somewhere.
2:00 – 3:15
Specialist Subject
Art, sports, music, dance or coding, depending on the day of the week. Tell us which one your child would love most and we will suggest the day that lands on it.
3:15 – 3:30
Dismissal & your sit-down
While the students gather for dismissal, the teachers who taught your child sits down with you for a debrief.
Your child is a student, not a visitor.
Children can tell the difference between being shown around and being included. Everything about the day is set up so they are treated as a member of the class from the moment they walk in.

Dedicated spot in the classroom of their year, based on the class they would eventually join
Specialist subjects included
Experience music, art, sports, dance, coding based on your preference - join experience day on the day of the week when your preferred activity is held!
The real workbooks
Issued the workbooks for their year group and they join where the class has got to.
Work pitched to their level
Ahead or behind, it does not matter. The teacher adjusts so they finish the day having achieved something. Executable due to our small class sizes!
A buddy for the day
Allocated a buddy - like an exact IFIS student. A classmate who sits with them at lunch, and interacts like students normally would.
Their work, marked before they go
Anything they complete during the day is marked and goes home with them that afternoon.
You leave with three things, not a brochure.
Most school visits end with a printed prospectus and a follow-up email. This one ends with a conversation about your child specifically, from the teachers who spent the day teaching them.

An honest read on how your child did
How they settled, whether they joined in, how they handled being new, and where they sat against the level of the class. Told to you straight - including the parts that are not flattering, because you cannot make a decision on a sales pitch.

A placement recommendation
Which year group we would put them in and what support they would need to thrive. eg. ESL, a phased start, or nothing at all. This will prove useful whether or not you choose us, especially if you have just arrived in Singapore and are not sure what level your child is at.

The actual numbers
Fees for their year group, what the one inclusive fee does and does not cover, scholarship eligibility, available places, and the enrolment steps. No follow-up call required to find out the price.

Both are completely normal and we have no preference.

Best if you are working, and honestly better for some children, who settle faster without a parent in the room.
